With Worldwide experience including Asia, India and the USA, I am equally familiar with Business Presentations, Car Launches, Gala Dinners, Awards, AGMs, Charity Auctions and Live Events. I have experience working with Performers, Musical Directors and Choreographers. I have worked with live broadcast and TV recordings including The Tour de France Grand Depart 2014, ATP Tennis Tournament and the Les Miserables and Phantom Of The Opera 25th Anniversary Concerts.
With a calm approach, I am familiar with calling diverse projects from small conferences to arena events and applying the same level of detail to all. My special skill is in assimilating large amounts of information in a short period of time and manipulating the hectic nature of pressurised rehearsals into calling a seamless event. I enjoy working with corporate producers and their clients to ensure an understanding of what is being delivered.
I am comfortable and confident in communicating between clients, agencies and technical teams. I act as onsite Producer for production companies and AV providers for smaller events. I regularly work with the same Producers across different companies or return to the same events on an annual basis.
I am familiar with live demo scenarios, incorporating live camera, voting and feedback systems into an event and also working with widescreen control setups including Encore, Spyder, Catalyst, Pandoras Box and Watchout.
I run Showcaller training workshops for junior producers and for theatre stage management wanting a better understanding of the discipline.

My work is grounded in a career working in theatre stage and company management.
I trained in the repertory system working from student ASM to stage manager in Perth Repertory Theatre, Watermill Theatre Newbury, Chester Gateway, University Theatre Newcastle upon Tyne and Salisbury Playhouse.
In London I have worked in stage management at The Old Vic, The National Theatre (at its inception in its new South Bank home), The Young Vic and The Royal Court Theatre.
I worked on musicals including On The Twentieth Century, Camelot, Barnum at the London Palladium with Michael Crawford, Time at the Dominion Theatre and, for Cameron Mackintosh, The Phantom of the Opera and Les Miserables. Highlights of this include:
"Kate Salberg is one of the industry’s best showcallers with vast experience in both the corporate and theatre world and will offer hands on experience in the session – if you want to know more about the industry, just have a brush up on your skills or think this would suit one of your colleagues, this course will be just the thing! I have had first-hand experience of being trained by Kate and working with Kate and I cannot recommend her highly enough." Lucy Hooper Event Producer
I run training sessions for all abilities on showcalling corporate events. Some examples of the training I offer are listed below. I am also able to tailor training sessions for individual requirements. I recommend live sessions for being most effective but I am also able to offer sessions remotely. I am flexible on group sizes but suggest a maximim of 15-20 students in order to provide enough one to one attention, there is no minimum size.
Sessions are interactive and require only a flip chart and a speaker system for playing back CD or IPod. Wifi is useful but not essential. I also provide PowerPoint notes for reference.
The usual structure is a three hour session for learning the basics in a classroom style, followed by a two hour hands on session which includes putting together a showbook and the opportunity to practice calling a small show.
Sessions by mutually convenient arrangement £135 per person. Group sessions can be arranged in house for production companies.
Previous students who have gained benefit from my training include: Project Co-ordinators and Junior Producers, who have gained more confidence with a guide on the best way to approach showcalling and providing approriate materials when using a freelance showcaller. Senior Producers who have found it helpful to confirm their calling is on the right track and to acquire some additional support to make it a less stressful experience. Theatre stage management who have had the desire to learn about corporate showcalling to see if they think it would suit them
“Just wanted to say thanks for the course today, was incredibly informative and a real eye opener into your world.”- Laura Wilson Theatre Stage Manager
